2024 Junior Showcase

Minnesota State High School Baseball Coaches Association

2024 Junior Showcase

The Minnesota State High School Baseball Coaches Association will conduct the 17th annual MSHSBCA Junior Showcase for about 150 of the top seniors-to-be (2025 graduates) in Minnesota.  The date will be Tuesday, July 9, 2024, starting at 8:00 am, and will be held at the Minnetonka High School all-turf baseball field.

Coaches are asked to nominate their 2024 juniors (2025 graduates) whom they feel have the potential to play college baseball.  Coaches are asked to have their nominations completed by May 15.

Nominations will be made online at: https://mshsbca.sportngin.com/register/form/399398616.

If you have problems nominating your player online, please contact Todd Smrekar at tsmrekar55@gmail.com.

Coaches are asked to please nominate only players they feel can play college baseball at some level. We ask that you nominate them, and rank them, in the order of their college baseball potential.

No Games will be played.  Groups will be divided into two-hour blocks with start times at  8:00, 10:00, or 12:00.

Everyone will be timed in the 60-yard dash.  Everyone will participate in batting practice.  All position players will show off their fielding skills and arm strength.  Players will work out at one position only, other than pitchers who may work out at two positions if they wish.  Pitchers will throw about a dozen pitches off the bullpen mound, showing their fastball, breaking ball, and change-up.

The nomination process will open on April 1.   When it closes on May 15, the selection committee will meet after consulting with high school coaches, college coaches, and professional scouts in attempting to select the top players to be invited to the showcase.

Once a player has been selected, he will be notified and asked to register online.  Any profit made on this event goes directly to the Minnesota State High School Baseball Coaches Association.

Last year we had over 60 college coaches in attendance.
