PLAY BALL MINNESOTA HIGH SCHOOL ALL-STAR SERIES

2018 INTINERARY

Updated June 20th, 2018

Wednesday June 20, 2018 (FOR COACHES ONLY – NO PLAYERS):

  • As early as 3 p.m. - Check in at Country Inn & Suites (4 Metro Teams) Holiday Inn Express in Chanhassen (North and South)
  • 6 p.m. meeting at B.I.G. in Chanhassen   It’s less than a 10 minute ride from the hotels.  Business Impact Group: 
  • Galpin Blvd. #120 Chanhassen, MN  - we can carpool at the lobby of the hotels or just meet there – up to you!

 

Thursday June 21, 2018 (PLAYERS REPORT TODAY):

  • 10:30 a.m. – TEAM MEETING and Distribute Gear - Metro South All Stars and Metro West All Stars report to Chaska Athletic Park for team meeting, bat autographs & practice.   Afterwards, go to hotel and check in.
  • 12:30 p.m. – TEAM MEETING and Distribute Gear -  Metro East All Stars and Metro North All Stars report to Chaska Athletic Park for team meeting, bat autographs & practice. Afterwards, go to hotel and check in.
  • 2:30 p.m. – TEAM MEETING and Distribute Gear - South All Stars and North All Stars report to Chaska Athletic Park for team meeting, bat autographs & practice.  Afterwards, go to hotel and check in.  You’ll have to hustle.
  • 6:00 - 3 Buses Arrive to take players and coaches to Canterbury Park for the banquet.  Leave by 6:05.  (The buses are big, but it could be a bit snug… sorry.  HIE has 1 bus and Country Inn & Suites has 2 buses.)      
  • 7:00 p.m. – 10:15 p.m. – Play Ball MN! High School All-Star Series Banquet at Canterbury.  There are 2 races there in our honor – it’ll be fun!  Back to hotels before 11 p.m.
  • Midnight – room checks – Turn in car keys to your coach.

 

Friday June 22, 2018:        BARTLEY Bracket Round Robin – Metro South, South and Metro East

                                                LAUFENBURGER Bracket Round Robin – Metro North, North and Metro West

7:30 a.m. – Rise and Shine for Continental Breakfast in the hotel

8:30 a.m. -Service Projects:

Feed My Starving Children (MN & MW) – bus will be out front at 8:30 a.m. and you end your time at 10:05.

TWINS CLINICS – MS & ME- drive to Chaska Athletic or take the bus – bring your baseball gear and wear your uniforms – you should leave around 8:35 a.m. Clinic runs from 9:00 – 10:30

Miracle League Clinic (North and South) bus leaves at 8:45 a.m. – the clinic will run from 9:00 – 10:10ish.  You can take the bus over to Chaska or drive. Your bus will continue on to Chaska Athletic Park.

Bus Shuttles

They will shuttle back at 3, 5 and 7 & after the final game.

  • The Cambria Homerun Derby (11:00) brought to you by B.I.G. at Chaska Athletic Field.  Each team has 1 participant with 2 Wild Cards chosen by committee.  Participants get 10 outs with Cambria having a Bonus Ball thrown on the last pitch! HR Derby contestants should be ready to hit starting at 11 with the MS and ME contestants starting first.

CHASKA ATHLETIC PARK – Times are approximate – games will start 25 minutes after previous finishes. No pregame Infield/Outfield will be taken.  Hit in the cages down RF Line.

12:30 - Metro South vs. Metro East    2:45 - Metro West vs. North   5:00 - South vs. Metro East   7:15 – North vs. Metro North                                            

Lunch for MW, N, S and MN will be served at noon to 1ish.  Lunch for MS and ME will be served after the conclusion of your game.  You’ll also receive a concession coupon to use at your leisure for dinner on Friday or on Saturday.

Domino’s Pizza Back at your hotels.  20+ pizzas will be delivered to Holiday Inn Express around 10:00 p.m.  30+ pizzas will be delivered to the Country Inn & Suites around 10:20.  Killebrew Root Beer will served with pizza. (Killebrew and Domino’s are sponsors of the 2018 All Star Series!)

 

 Saturday June 23, 2018 (Family Day and Check Out Day at the Ball Park):

 

South and Metro South Rise and Shine to eat breakfast, check out of hotel- either before or after – depending on what the hotel says - and drive over to field at 7:15. No bus available today.

All other teams – Rise and Shine based on what your coach tells you.

 

  • 5 Games for the day (all games are 7 innings) at 9, 11:15, 2:30, 5:00 and 7:00 approx:
    • 9:00 a.m. – South vs. Metro South     &       11:15 a.m. – Metro West vs. Metro North       
    • Lunch served at 1 p.m. behind 3B dugout    **YOU MUST CHECK OUT OF HOTEL BY 11:00 a.m.
  • ALL PLAYERS MUST BE AT THE BALLPARK at 1 p.m. - Approximately 1:15 p.m. - Coach/Player Intros – pictures for parents/fans in Outfield by the scoreboard.

 

Game 3 for all Teams:

Consolation Game - #3 Seeds – Start at 2:30 approximately

  • Awards given to the 3rd seeded teams

3rd Place Game - #2 Seeds start at approximately 5 p.m.

  • Awards given to the 2nd seeded teams

Championship Game

  • Approximately 7:00 p.m. – #1 Seeds Play                            
  • Welter MVP, Todd Oakes Most Valuable Pitcher, plus awards for 2 remaining teams
